BREEZE EASY-BRED TRACK PHANTOM CO-LEADER BY KENTUCKY DERBY POINTS

Breeze Easy-bred and co-owned Track Phantom is now co-leader by points on the Road to the Kentucky Derby after a smooth success in the Lecomte Stakes (G3) at Fair Grounds. That victory took his points total to 30, tying him for the lead with the Champion Two-Year-Old Fierceness.

The Lecomte Stakes (G3) was Track Phantom’s first run in graded stakes company and his three-year-old debut, following consecutive victories in a maiden special weight and the Gun Runner Stakes at two. Seizing the initiative from favorite Nash, Track Phantom controlled the race, setting a steady pace, opening up by three lengths in the stretch, then cruising home to score by 2 3/4 lengths without being fully extended. Track Phantom has now won the last three of his five starts, earning $285,000.

A $500,000 yearling, Track Phantom is by Quality Road, a brilliant racehorse, and now one of the world’s leading sires with such as Champions Abel Tasman, Caledonia Road and Corniche, and other standouts City of Light, Dunbar Road, Bellafina, and the 2023 Preakness Stakes (G1) hero National Treasure.

Miss Sunset, the dam of Track Phantom, is one of the most talented daughters of five-time Leading Sire, Into Mischief. She captured no less than nine black-type events, including the Raven Run Stakes (G2), and missed victory by inches in the Madison Stakes (G1). Her dam, Tuscan Sunset, is a winning half-sister to stakes winners Sizzlin South and Sparklin Lil, the dam of Prayer For Relief, an earner of over $2,000,000, including the West Virginia Derby (G2), Super Derby (G2), Cornhusker Handicap (G3) and Iowa Derby (G3).
